Do you have ice dams, or is your house too cold?
Michigan building code for attic R-value is R-49.
This means if you have blown fiberglass insulation
you would need approximately 24"-25", and if you
have cellulose insulation you would need
approximately 12"-13". Many homes in Michigan have
approximately half the necessary amount of
insulation required by the Michigan building code.
Take advantage of the extended energy credit and
blow some additional insulation in your attic. Ice
dams are caused by improperly insulated and
inadequately ventilated attics. We can
install additional attic vents to ensure your roof
and attic are properly ventilated which will
increase the life of your roof and reduce the risks
of ice dams. Added insulation equates to lower
heating and cooling costs. It also reduces the time
your furnace runs which means lower electricity
bills and increases the life of the furnace. We
primarily install quality products by Certainteed,
Owens Corning and Knauf and Regal. We are capable
of blowing both fiberglass blowing wool and
cellulose loose fill insulation in walls and
attics.
